1. What is hard water? How do I know if my water is hard?

Water which contains higher amount of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) than permitted level is termed as hard water. to know if your water is hard or soft, you will have to get it tested by a professional.

2. What is water softener? Is installing a water softener at my house is compulsory?

Water softener is a machine that removes excessive calcium and magnesium from water and converts your hard water into soft water. As the pollution is increasing rapidly, water softeners have become a must have product for every household. However, if your water has permitted level of hardness (Calcium + Magnesium), you don’t need a water softener. But if you find scaling on taps, rough and dry hair and skin after bath, that indicates hardness in your water and you must use a water softener.

3. How do I decide which size of water softener I need to install?

Size of a water softener completely depends on your daily water consumption and the hardness level in your water. More these two parameters are, bigger the water softener you need to install so as to optimise the salt consumption and water wastage of the water softener. 4. What is the life of water softener?

Water softener is a one time investment and has no end life. However, you need to replenish the regeneration salt in a periodic interval to let water softener function smoothly.

5. Can I install water softener in flat?

Yes. Water softener can be installed in flats too. Our water softener are designed to adapt any kind of installation procedure. Be it bungalow, villa or flat, our water softener makes sure to offer soft water at all times.

6. Do I need to regenerate the water softener?

Regeneration of a water softener completely depends on the type you want to buy. If you would buy a manual water softener, you will have to regenerate the water softener on your own. If you buy an automatic water softener, the machine regenerates itself and you don’t even need to touch the machine.

7. How would I know if salt needs to be replenished?

All our automatic water systems are equipped with our proprietary “Low salt level alarm” that gives you buzzer when salt level is low in brine tank of water softener. You will also get buffer of 15 days so you have sufficient time to order your dealer for replenishment of salt.

However, if you own a manual water softener, you yourself is regenerating the system so you can check it on your own by removing the lid of brine tank wether salt is available or needs replenishment.

8. Who will install the water softener if I order online?

9. Is shade required for my automatic water softener?

10. Which salt is required to regenerate a water softener?

Tablet salt having purity of 99.5% is required to regenerate a water softener. People who regenerate using sea salt tends to destroy the resin of their water softener because sea salt has high quantity of mud in it. Experts do not suggest sea salt and rock salt for water softeners.

11. What are the advantages of automatic water softener over manual water softener?

An automatic water softener regenerates automatically on preset time intervals based on discharged water quantity and time settings. So you do not have to remember anything and it keeps working fine for lifetime. The automatic multiport valve makes sure each regeneration process is done correctly.

However, in a manual water softener, you will have to keep a reminder when the system needs to be regenerated and you will have to learn the skill of regenerating the water softener. Otherwise, you will have to buy an AMC for manual water softener if you want your dealer to regenerate it regularly. That increases the future operating cost of the system as dealer might charge you for labour.

12. What are the advantages of ion exchange technology or resin based water softeners over magnetic water softeners?

Ion exchange technology or resin based water softeners have been dominating the market of magnetic water softener. Magnetic water softener or conditioners do not show any upfront result and stops working in a year or two as per experts view. However, ion exchange technology or resin based water softeners have been found to work properly for a larger span of time. If checked by a hardness kit, the output water from magnetic water softener do not clearly show softening results as clearly shown by resin based water softeners.

Carbon and sand filter is a one time buy product. It runs perfectly and no future maintenance cost is involved. Backwashing of the unit is done automatically by unit itself and no manual intervention is required in case of automatic one. Backwashing of a manual system is also quite easy.

However, in a 20 inch spun filter or bag filter, the filter of it requires cleaning very frequently. Also the filter requires to be replaced frequently as it cannot backwash mud hold in it.
